Before the arrival of the Darkness, Stingwhirlers carried fungal spores between different regions of the Gloomwood, sustaining the natural cycle of propagation. Their flights connected isolated parts of the forest into a single living system. After the Darkness emerged, their bodies changed-now they carry a far more aggressive strain of spores.
