Before the coming of the Darkness, Spore Giants appeared only rarely, serving as temporary avatars of the mycelium used to restore damaged regions of the Dreadwood. They concentrated the network's resources and directed its growth toward critical areas. After the arrival of the Darkness, such forms began appearing far more often. Now they no longer restore the forest-they expand it, consuming everything around them.
